In response to your request that you made for the situation that you noted below, you need to make a public records request though the Police Department's Records Unit. You can reach them through this link.

Thank you.

Subject: Request for public records about a report to the police of an arsonist setting fires

On Saturday night June 13, 2009 sometime prior to 7:50 pm someone made a call the Scottsdale police and reported an arsonist setting fires. They said the arsonist was wearing a blue sweatshirt and a hat.

I want a copy of the audio call that was tape recorded when received by either the 911 operator or the operator who takes the non-emergency calls.

I also want copies of any paper records that who ever takes these types of calls about suspected criminals.

This is a request for public records. Can you pass this e-mail on to who ever handles these requests for public records so I can get a tape of the audio call and any paper records made about the call.

Thanks

1 The webmaster thinks the cop intentionally left the subject blank to make things hard to find. I bet he leaves each and everyone of the subject blanks in e-mails he sends to outsiders. I bet he always uses a subject when he sends emails to other cops. Hell do a public records request on his emails and find out!
